The Moomins (1990)

The Moomins (1990) is an anime TV series based off the Finnish books and comics by Tove Jansson and her brother, Lars Jansson. The majority of the series is based within Moominvalley, with a range of characters - the main of course, being the family of Moomintrolls.

I'll be real- I was born much, much later than when the series was released, so I didn't grow up watching the Moomins. My interest was first peaked when I kept seeing it all around Finland, where I'd gone to, along as greater Scandinavia, for Christmas a few years ago. Being easily lured by cute things, I bought a Moominpapa plushie from some random grocery store, and as I soon learnt about the Moomins, my obsession slowly spiralled into what it is now.
The Moomins became very much a comfort show for me. The 1990s series in particular just, makes me feel warm and fuzzy in a way. The episodes are available to watch on the Official Moomins Youtube channel!! So it's quite accessible, if you wanted to check them out.

CHARACTERS

There are many characters in the Moomins series, so I will only go through my favourite characters.

	Moomin is a little lad in Moominvalley, son of Moominpapa and Moominmama. He is totally not boyfriends with Snufkin btw...
	Snufkin is definitely not Moomin's boyfriend. He is a lovely, whimsical, harmonica-tooting traveller. If I had to describe him... he's kinda like Uncle Toby's Vanilla-flavoured oatmeal. He's just chill like that- you can't dislike him, you know?
	Little My is probably the character I feel is most similar to me. Short, kinda sassy, snarky, whiny-ish. I am really on the lookout for more merch of her. oh, also her and snufkin are half-siblings!
	Listen, I know he's a 'villain', but he's Stinky, okay?? He's just a silly little guy... or hairy thing.

My own collection

I've acquired a number of moomin things, mainly plushies, because that's what I prefer the most. Most of my stuff I got off Mercari, or in Finland.
